Tondano, June 9, 2026 — Lorry Enjlina Br Surbakti, a 2022 cohort student of the Chemistry Education Study Program, has once again made history for the Faculty of Mathematics, Natural Sciences, and Earth Sciences (FMIPAK), Universitas Negeri Manado. On Tuesday, June 9, 2026, Lorry officially undertook the Non‑Thesis Comprehensive Examination, granted as a form of academic recognition for her national‑level achievement as a Finalist of the 38th National Student Scientific Week (Pimnas) 2025.
This recognition was awarded in acknowledgment of her success in leading the PKM–Innovative Work team through an innovation titled CHEMLIT XR: A Sensor‑Based Laboratory Tool Integrated with a Camera to Display AR Objects and Access AI‑Assisted Virtual Reality Classes. The innovation was developed under the supervision of Jakub Saddam Akbar, M.Pd., through the Research Cluster (KBR) of Digital Technology for Chemistry Learning Media.
This innovative work propelled the team to the prestigious stage of Pimnas 38, held at Hasanuddin University, Makassar—an achievement that highlights the capability of FMIPAK students to compete at the national level.
CHEMLIT XR is a chemistry learning device that integrates sensor technology, camera systems, Augmented Reality (AR), Virtual Reality (VR), and Artificial Intelligence (AI) into a single practical tool. The innovation is designed to enhance the quality of chemistry learning by providing a more interactive, immersive, and future‑ready educational experience aligned with 21st‑century learning demands. Through its integrated technological approach, CHEMLIT XR offers a practical solution for improving laboratory‑based chemistry instruction in both schools and universities.
The success of Lorry and her team in advancing to Pimnas serves as strong evidence that FMIPAK Unima Chemistry students are capable of producing innovative works that are not only aligned with technological advancements but also responsive to the needs of modern education. This achievement further strengthens the faculty’s commitment to fostering a culture of research, creativity, and innovation among its students.
