Tondano, 29 July 2026 — The Chemistry Department of Universitas Negeri Manado (UNIMA) served as the host of the LUPIC Annual Meeting 2026, an annual gathering that brings together all partner universities of the Leading University Project for International Cooperation (LUPIC). The meeting focused on reviewing achievements, evaluating ongoing initiatives, and discussing strategic directions for the development of international collaborative programs carried out throughout the year.
The event was attended by delegates from Sogang University (South Korea) as the LUPIC coordinating institution, along with representatives from Universitas Negeri Semarang, Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia, Universitas Pendidikan Ganesha, Universitas Maritim Raja Ali, Universitas Negeri Lampung, Universitas Mataram, and Universitas Nusa Cendana. Their presence reaffirmed UNIMA’s position as an active and strategic institution within the LUPIC international cooperation network.
In his remarks, Dr. Anderson Aloanis, M.Si, Chair of the Chemistry Department at UNIMA, expressed that hosting the Annual Meeting is both an honor and a testament to LUPIC’s trust in UNIMA’s commitment to advancing chemistry education and research. He emphasized that the meeting serves as an important forum for evaluating various programs implemented over the year, including international workshops, OBE‑based curriculum development, the inauguration of the Chemistry Department’s Fablab, and community engagement activities involving teachers and students across North Sulawesi.
Throughout the meeting, LUPIC delegates highlighted the significant progress achieved by UNIMA in implementing its programs, including strengthened academic capacity, expanded collaborative networks, and tangible impacts on the local education community. Discussions were dynamic and reflective, addressing successes, implementation challenges, and strategic plans for expanding research collaboration and academic mobility in the coming year.
The LUPIC Annual Meeting 2026 reaffirmed UNIMA’s commitment to enhancing academic quality, expanding international partnerships, and contributing meaningfully to the advancement of chemistry education at both national and global levels. The meeting also marked an important milestone for the Chemistry Department in strengthening its role as a center for international collaboration in Eastern Indonesia.
