The Department of Chemistry, FMIPAK, Universitas Negeri Manado welcomed an educational visit from students of SMAN 1 Likupang on February 4, 2026. The visit took place at the Chemistry Laboratory of FMIPAK UNIMA as part of an initiative to introduce high school students to the academic environment and laboratory practices in the field of science.
The program aimed to provide students with firsthand experience of laboratory facilities, practical chemistry activities, and academic opportunities in the field of chemistry. During the visit, students were introduced to laboratory equipment, safety procedures, and participated in simple yet engaging chemistry demonstrations.
Lecturers and laboratory staff from the Department of Chemistry accompanied the session, presenting information about the department’s profile, career prospects for chemistry graduates, and the importance of science and technology in today’s world. The students showed great enthusiasm, actively engaging in discussions and question-and-answer sessions throughout the visit.
Through this activity, the Department of Chemistry FMIPAK UNIMA hopes to inspire students to pursue higher education in science, particularly in chemistry, while strengthening collaboration between the university and secondary schools in North Sulawesi.
This visit reflects FMIPAK UNIMA’s commitment to supporting science education and introducing young learners to the dynamic academic atmosphere of university life.
