Minahasa, February 12, 2026 , The Executive Board of the Chemistry Student Association, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA), Universitas Negeri Manado (UNIMA) conducted a 2026 New Student Admission (PMB) socialization program at several senior high schools across the Minahasa region, namely SMAN 1 Remboken, SMAN 1 Kakas, SMAN 2 Tondano, SMAN 1 Langowan, SMAN 3 Tondano, SMAN 1 Kawangkoan, SMAN 1 Tondano, SMAN 1 Tompaso, and SMAN 2 Langowan.
The three-day activity, held from February 10 to February 12, 2026, aimed to introduce the Department of Chemistry, FMIPA UNIMA, to twelfth-grade students. During the sessions, members of the student association presented information about the study program, career prospects for graduates, laboratory facilities, student activities, as well as admission pathways and requirements for the 2026/2027 academic year.
The Chairperson of the Chemistry Student Association, Stevani Kolompoy, stated that the initiative was part of an effort to broaden access to information and attract high-achieving prospective students from various schools in Minahasa. “We want to provide students with a clear understanding of study opportunities in the Department of Chemistry and the career prospects they can achieve after graduation,” she said.
Students showed great enthusiasm throughout the program. The question-and-answer session became one of the most engaging segments, allowing students to interact directly with active university students and learn more about academic and non-academic campus life.
Through this outreach program, it is hoped that more high school graduates in Minahasa will be encouraged to pursue higher education in the Department of Chemistry, FMIPA UNIMA, and contribute to the advancement of science, particularly in the field of chemistry.
