The Department of Chemistry, FMIPAK, Universitas Negeri Manado participated in the Second Semiannual Meeting of the 3rd Year LUPIC Project, held on 10–12 February 2026 at CK Tanjungpinang Hotel & Convention Centre, Riau Islands. The Department was officially represented by the Head of the Department, Dr. Anderson Aloanis, M.Si., as a demonstration of its commitment to strengthening international cooperation.

This official consortium meeting of the third year of LUPIC was hosted by Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia’s new partner, Universitas Maritim Raja Ali Haji (Umrah), and was attended by delegates from various partner universities.

The meeting aimed to review the achievements of the LUPIC program during its third year, enhance coordination among consortium members, and formulate strategic directions as well as sustainability plans for the continuation of the project. The presence of the Head of the Department of Chemistry, FMIPAK UNIMA, was expected to provide valuable academic and strategic contributions to the advancement of international collaboration, particularly in the fields of chemistry education and research.

The series of activities commenced with the arrival of all delegates on 10 February 2026, followed by the semiannual consortium meeting presenting the third-year achievement report. On 11 February 2026, the agenda continued with the Institutional Commitment session, the signing of cooperation documents (MoA/IA), and the inauguration of the FabLab Corner at Umrah. The program also included a facility tour, networking sessions, and media interviews.

During the parallel academic sessions, Prof. Won Koo Lee and several partner academics delivered guest lectures to university students, while the FabLab introduction session was conducted for lecturers and faculty staff. Strategic discussions between partner and new partner universities were also held to strengthen future program implementation.

The final day of the meeting, 12 February 2026, focused on capacity building and community outreach activities, marking the closing of the consortium meeting series.

Through its active participation in this international forum, the Department of Chemistry, FMIPAK UNIMA reaffirmed its commitment to expanding global networks, enhancing the quality of the university’s tridharma (education, research, and community service), and supporting the sustainability of impactful international cooperation programs for the institution and society.
