Bitung, 4 September 2026 — The Department of Chemistry, FMIPAK Universitas Negeri Manado, participated as an academic partner in the Professional Development Program for Chemistry Teachers across North Sulawesi, held by the Chemistry MGMP of North Sulawesi at SMA Negeri 1 Bitung. The program focused on assisting teachers in the discussion and analysis of Test of Academic Competence (TKA) questions, aiming to enhance teachers’ conceptual mastery and analytical skills in chemistry.
As part of this collaboration, the Department of Chemistry UNIMA deployed lecturers from multiple areas of expertise, including Analytical Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Physical Chemistry, Basic Chemistry, and Inorganic Chemistry. Their involvement provided comprehensive academic support, enabling teachers to deepen their understanding of core concepts, strengthen reasoning skills, and refine strategies for approaching TKA‑type questions.
The leadership of the Chemistry MGMP emphasized that partnering with UNIMA’s Department of Chemistry is a strategic step toward improving teacher competence and expanding professional networks between schools and higher education institutions. Through this joint effort, teachers gained updated insights, enriched pedagogical approaches, and strengthened readiness for competency‑based assessments.
This collaborative initiative also aligns with the broader direction of UNIMA’s partnership with LUPIC (Leading University Project for International Cooperation), which prioritizes capacity building for science educators in the region.
