Tondano, September 2026 — The Chemistry MGMP of North Sulawesi and all study programs within the Department of Chemistry, FMIPAK Universitas Negeri Manado, officially signed an Implementation Arrangement (IA) to strengthen strategic collaboration in enhancing teacher competence and advancing chemistry education across the region.
The IA was signed between MGMP Chemistry North Sulawesi and the four study programs under the Department of Chemistry: Bachelor of Chemistry Education (S1 Pendidikan Kimia), Bachelor of Chemistry (S1 Kimia), Master of Chemistry (S2 Kimia), and Doctoral Program in Chemistry (S3 Kimia). This agreement provides a formal framework for implementing joint initiatives such as teacher mentoring, development of instructional modules, curriculum alignment between schools and universities, and other academic and professional activities.
The leadership of MGMP Chemistry North Sulawesi highlighted that the IA marks an important milestone in strengthening partnerships between chemistry teachers and higher education institutions. With this formal agreement, MGMP and the Department of Chemistry UNIMA can design more structured, sustainable, and relevant programs to support the professional growth of chemistry teachers across the province.
From UNIMA’s side, the Head of the Department of Chemistry emphasized that the collaboration reflects the department’s commitment to contributing to the improvement of chemistry education quality through measurable academic support. The involvement of all study programs—from undergraduate to doctoral levels—demonstrates the department’s readiness to provide expert resources, academic facilities, and research support to enhance teacher capacity and school development.
The IA signing is also aligned with UNIMA’s broader institutional direction, including international cooperation initiatives such as LUPIC (Leading University Project for International Cooperation), which prioritizes strengthening the competencies of science educators in the region. Through this agreement, MGMP Chemistry and the Department of Chemistry UNIMA now have a stronger foundation for implementing impactful programs that directly improve the quality of chemistry teaching and learning.
