The Chemistry Department of FMIPAK, Universitas Negeri Manado, strengthened its academic and professional collaboration through the signing of an Implementation Arrangement (IA) with PT Bureau Veritas Indonesia Manado Laboratory. This partnership marks an important step in enhancing the department’s laboratory quality assurance, analytical service capacity, and industry‑linked academic development.
The collaboration with Bureau Veritas—an internationally recognized institution in inspection, certification, and laboratory testing—opens opportunities for joint activities such as laboratory training, analytical method development, quality system enhancement, and applied research relevant to industrial and environmental needs.
In addition to the IA signing, the meeting also included a dedicated discussion on curriculum development across all study programs within the Chemistry Department, namely the Bachelor of Chemistry Education, Bachelor of Chemistry, Master of Chemistry, and Doctoral Program in Chemistry. The discussion focused on strengthening curriculum relevance to industry standards, integrating laboratory‑based competencies, and aligning academic outcomes with professional expectations in chemical analysis and quality assurance.
The Doctoral Program in Chemistry reaffirmed its commitment to the Research‑Based Education (RBE) curriculum, ensuring that research, laboratory practice, and scientific publication remain central components of doctoral training.
Through this collaboration and curriculum alignment effort, the Chemistry Department UNIMA continues to build a strong academic and professional foundation, contributing to the advancement of chemical sciences and supporting industry needs in North Sulawesi and beyond.
