Tondano, May 20, 2026 — The Department of Chemistry, FMIPAK Universitas Negeri Manado, successfully organized a guest lecture titled “Gold Testing in Mining Activities” on Wednesday, May 20, 2026. The session featured expert speakers from PT Bureau Veritas Indonesia Manado Laboratory, a leading laboratory specializing in mineral and precious metal analysis.

This academic event was attended by lecturers and students of the Department of Chemistry as part of efforts to strengthen applied analytical chemistry competencies, particularly those relevant to the mining sector. The speakers from Bureau Veritas delivered comprehensive insights into various gold testing methods used in industry, including sample preparation techniques, quantitative analysis procedures, and quality standards implemented in professional laboratory environments.

Participants also gained a deeper understanding of the technical challenges in gold analysis, the importance of data accuracy, and the critical role of testing laboratories in supporting exploration and mining operations. An interactive discussion followed, with students actively asking questions about career opportunities, analytical technologies, and laboratory best practices.

This guest lecture serves as a direct implementation of the collaboration between FMIPAK UNIMA and PT Bureau Veritas Indonesia Manado Laboratory, aimed at strengthening academic–industry partnerships and expanding opportunities for education, research, and student skill development.
